Nicholas D’Andre is the CEO & Co-Founder of GridMatrix, a transportation analytics startup partnering with cities to eliminate traffic congestion, emissions, and accidents with data. GridMatrix’s work has been featured in leading smart city and trade publications such as Cities Today, Government Technology, and ITS International, as well as in international news outlets including the Bloomberg, the Associated Press, Finanzen, and Markets Insider. The Intelligent Transportation Society of America has recognized GridMatrix’s software as a leading new solution for sustainable and resilient infrastructure. Mr. D’Andre is a frequent contributor at mobility conferences globally, speaking on the application of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, sensor fusion, and artificial intelligence to complex transportation challenges. He serves on the board of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America’s Emerging Technologies Committee, The National Operations Center of Excellence’s Cooperative Automated Transportation Committee, and SEMI’s Automotive Advisory Council.


Prior to founding GridMatrix, Mr. D’Andre was a Senior Global Supply Manager at Apple. In that role, he was responsible for executing global sourcing strategies on behalf of Apple engineering teams prototyping new products as well as operations managers ramping mass production runs across all hardware product lines. Mr. D’Andre managed over half a billion dollars in annual spend across globally distributed mechanical components, industrial sensing, RF test equipment, and engineering design service suppliers. Prior to Apple, Mr. D’Andre worked at Amazon where he was a Senior Inventory Manager for its primary retail business. He used big data analytics to purchase goods, manage inventory levels, and optimize product distribution. Before Amazon, he interned with Google while also pursuing his MBA and worked on demand forecasting for the launch of the Pixel – Google’s first smartphone. Before Amazon, Mr. D’Andre worked as an Investment Analyst in the New York Office of McKinsey & Company, a global consulting firm. Mr. D’Andre holds a Master of Business Administration from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College.
