The Role

Reporting to the CEO, The Head of Sales will be a leader in GridMatrix’s Sales & Marketing organization and coordinate its daily operations. As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for growing GridMatrix's customer pipeline, develop long-term relationships with GridMatrix's customers, and communicate the beneficial impact a GridMatrix deployment can have in a community. The right candidate will be able scale past success and customer satisfaction into new market adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Partner Relationship Management

  • Grow GridMatrix’s direct customer relationships with users and leaders at state, local, national, and international public agencies
  • Leverage GridMatrix’s state/local/national government relations partners, translating networking opportunities into commercial impact
  • Coordinate across multiple sales & marketing teams at GridMatrix’s private partners, including enterprise cloud/transportation data/LiDAR OEM companies
  • Become a trusted advisor to GridMatrix’s public sector customers on intelligent transportation technology
  • Manage GridMatrix's CRM, driving customer outreach and updates

Sales, Marketing, and Pricing Strategy

  • Direct and execute GridMatrix’s sales and marketing strategy
  • Articulate the different between GridMatrix's solutions and those from incumbents and competitors
  • Work closely with GridMatrix's government affairs team to look around corners and identify how government affairs strategy impacts commercial direction/execution
  • Proactively surface and brief commercial opportunities to executive leadership 
  • Proactively identify relevant grants, RFPs, accelerators, and test-bed opportunities
  • Map how GridMatrix’s products and features support IIJA funding opportunities and communicate this support to public stakeholders
  • Align pricing structure to customer needs, continuously optimizing for value and impact while remaining competitive with alternative solutions
  • Develop a data-driven approach to sales and marketing, quantifying metrics including sales cycle timing, customer acquisition costs, CLV, etc.

Conferences & Travel

  • Represent GridMatrix at industry trade shows and conferences and be a highly visible senior representative that is strongly associated with GridMatrix's solutions
  • Coordinate conference logistics including booking, registration, set-up, and take-down

Marketing Material Development

  • Work closely with GridMatrix's marketing and government affairs team to develop written marketing materials such as brochures, case-studies, announcements, articles, newsletters, and website content
  • Develop alternative channels for customer interface, including webinars, podcasts, videos, etc.
  • Keep GridMatrix's social media content aligned and relevant for customer needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS
  • 5+ relevant YOE
  • Customer obsessed
  • Previous experience leading and growing a high performance sales & marketing team
  • Highest level of integrity and ethics - there are things more important than money
  • Deeply motivated to help revitalize American infrastructure, enhance public safety and equity, and reduce emissions

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in cloud-based SaaS sales, preferably for GovTech/B2G/smart city solutions
  • Experience in intelligent transportation solution sales
  • Interest in domestic and international travel
  • Experience presenting and speaking to large audiences
  • Experience at a product-focused technology company
