Donald Lee, Ph.D.
Donald Lee advises GridMatrix’s engineering team on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Dr. Lee’s research develops and applies statistical learning techniques to improve the operations of health care systems. He is interested in problems faced by medical practitioners, and he has extensive experience in developing data-driven tools for problems ranging from healthcare financial planning to early warning systems for patient mortality. Dr. Lee's research has appeared in leading journals in management, healthcare, and in the statistical sciences, and he holds a joint appointment in the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics at the Rollins School of Public Health. Prior to joining Emory, he served as an associate professor at Yale and held appointments in the School of Management and in the Department of Statistics and Data Science. Dr. Lee received his BA, MA, and MMath (Mathematics) from Cambridge University and his MS & PhD from Stanford in Statistics and Operations Research.
